i happened to notice the 1:43 modifiers which have fallen out of fashion. has anyone tried any of these for fit? if they line up well, i know people that could pull lexan copies.
these should be found cheaply now... i know there are some on ebay

i bought a hotwheels dropstars land rover today as it looked to be the right size..... turns out the wheelbase was perfect however the actual track width was atleast 1/4" too narrow  too bad as it was a sweet looking truck

Hey Arch,
I have bought some modifiers in the past in hopes of casting copies. The more I looked at them the less I liked them. They didn't really match up and the effort it would take to modify them seemed unreasonable. If they were better looking maybe extra effort would be worth it. They just seemed kinda blah to me.

This seems to be a common problem with RC cars and die cast cars. You can nail the wheelbase, but the track width is too darn narrow to fit right. Happens for the styrene kits too.
Most of this is from working with Mini Z's, but these Epochs sound about the same way. I think most RC's of any size are proportionally wider than they are long for stability.

Combing through Tiny RC I found this thread that supports what I posted above. I have always liked his work, even the MZR stuff.
