Was ordering something from geeks.com and I saw these on big sale ($6) so I figured why not try it out.

Not proportional at all, but I like the mercedes body! It even comes with 6 plastic cones.

Wheelbase is a little off, but probably workable with some sanding.

How adjustable is the epoch wheelbase, think I can adjust it to fit w/o sanding the mercedes?
Now I just need to get the body off, its screwed in 3 places, and then I think glued up front, but I haven't had the nerve to try forcing it. Will give it another look :)

Not great, but not awful. Complete on/off steering and throttle, so I guess its like a superslick. But I hear SS bodies won't swap, so this might be a good option if found cheaply. I have a spare epoch board, I might try converting one of these too, won't have a diff, and it will probably take some work to get a gearbox in, but might be worth it.

That's weird the controller, and antennae look exactly like the DG masters, and it has no propo at all? Nice body though!

Totally not propo. Yea, everything is the same as the DG (apparently). I got 2 and I like one body less so I will try to get all the way in and post inside shots. It does have some truly AWFUL sounds if you turn it on (motor turning over etc.), but thankfully you can leave it turned off!

Well, got out the other one to test on (not willing to risk mercedes body!). After some dremeling, it seems to fit pretty well. Now I just need to fine a way to make a pegboard for it and I should be good.

Just looked around for these in case someone wanted to body swap, man people are charging a lot for these. I saw one ebay store selling this junker for $30 before shipping. Luckily, I got mine for $6 each + $1 to ship both (since part of an existing order).

search for a product called UtilePlast... a plastic that can be reshaped when heated... should be easy way to duplicate those body mounts in a very strong way.

That looks good! Just take out that tape, have you seen those pegs that Buckaroo used to make out of resin? Those would be perfect. Nice.

yea I have sculpey/fimo too... but this utileplast is easier since you can heat it and put it on the item till it cools... and holds its shape
the fimo stuff is like clay... and needs to be put in a 200 degree oven to harden.. and usualy by then its miss-shaped.. etc...

Picked up some sculpey ($2 to try is not too bad). You were right about it being difficult, but I eventually cranked out some proper pegbars. So I put one on either side to see about spacing etc. and I sheared a peg right off. I guess its just not strong enough.
Wow, thats a lot cheaper, and free US shipping?! I had found it here: http://www.utileplast.ca/shopping.htm but thats like $22 for 100g vs. $14 for 250g. I don't have a real idea of how much I'd want to get, do you think the 250g pack would work for me?

I plan to buy the 1KG lol... soon as I get enough funds, im flat broke.
100-200 is going to be more than enough for body posts... see the video on that site you linked to for uses.
Why so much? Cuz I have like a bagilion ideas for it other then just body posts.. I dont even think that will be enough...
However I thought 100$ worth of sculpey clay would not be enough (I had to buy all colors) and all I did was make a few teddy bear figures for a former girlfriend... lol...

Solved it (hopefully) with materials onhand. Using some plastic dividers cut into strips and some .072 brass rod. Drilled a 1/16 hole and then hammered a chunk of rod into it. It fits into the car slots fine, now its just a matter of seeing how the glue holds it when installing the body (using shoo goo, so letting it cure overnight).
EDIT: worked great but man is it a tight fit :) And this is after I trimmed some shorter brass rod to use so the pegs don't stick out as much.
