Hi
have installed two 4 cell packs I bought from microracing.com about 3 years ago into my first two epochs. They have since broken. recently bought 3 more new cars. The battery performance is quite variable but Im not impressed-I think they are just old. Like a previous post had described, my best car will only charge about 70 mah on a triton and a schultze, my worst (brand new), charges about 15mah--runs about 30 seconds. These little cars would be great with decent batteries--where can i buy a 170 or 270 lipo or a quality 130-170 1/3AAA pack(prefer 4 cell)??

170mah lipos from this shop soon, if my guess is right ;)
Should be able to fit 3 in parallel for 510mah ;)

Thing with lipos is if u drain them too far... they stop working ;)
and there is no detection and saftey circuit on the epoch to warn you when its too far drained...

thanks for the info, would love to add a lithium pack, am aware they self destruct if discharged too low(they expand). You just run them for a given time and recheck voltage often--gives you an estimate of your d/c curve. Also, have you heard anything regarding these 1/43 fully prop. formula cars? Theyre made by a japanese company that begins witha k--I found them on the net once, and cannot refind--thanks

E-Tec 210, Worley 170, or Kokam 145, any of these cells will fit up to two in parallel. At around 3.7 volts the Epoch steering becomes weak and by the time it even gets close to 3.3 you have long since given up trying to drive it, so you don’t have to worry about checking the voltage while driving, only about leaving the car turned on when you are done.

LoL and remember to use the right charger at the right setting. With a bunch of cars some LiPo some with different NiMH packs it can get confusing especially if you don’t have a convenient way to check.

dougcmd, do you mean the Konami F1 racers? They are Digi-Q's i haven't seen a review from anyone about how they perform, but have always been curious.

if their digi-Q then ive heard they use infrared and steer by varying varying motor output to rear wheels-not sure i like that.

THe silly digi Q cars steer like tanks.. however I believe the F1 have front steering...
